This is legitimately one of the greatest pieces of cinema and I know cinema is pretentious but that's how good this movie is. I really, really loved this movie. It's blunt and lingering, proving once again that the young adult genre is superior. There's really something absolutely special about it that reminded me about making good movies. It's not about the one liners or special effects or the improbability of it all. It didn't whisk me away to Narnia, I didn't yearn for a friendship experienced by the titular characters, or even the quirks oversaturated in the trailer. It is so wholesome and unforgiving and unfair and so beautifully concluded; it deserves better words than I can offer.
This movie is genuinely one of the best I've ever seen & quite honestly Tarantino's "because we love making movies" could never understand producing something like this.
