I've been binging on Light Novels lately. While browsing the Yen Press site and Amazon I noticed that a good amount of the DRRR!! novels are now available in english, while a bunch more being scheduled for release this year.
I even put the first five volumes onto my Kindle already, because why the fuck not.

That got me thinking. How many people here even still give a damn about that franchise. Anybody read the novels or has the intention of picking them up? So there's gonna be a poll here. A survey that may even show how many current folks even know where the site came from originally, as it is.

Feel free to elaborate on your relationship to DRRR!! on here, but I'd also be interested in hearing how the Light Novels actually are. Any good? Worth reading? I may squeeze them in somewhere if they're worthwhile. How do they compare with the animu adaptation?

    Also have a Celty

I remember nice times, when you participated in shaming of people talking about Drrr. I guess, you regressed with time.

Well, I've only watched the anime... And after the 1st season I only watched 1 part of season 2... So yeah.... I guess I kind of lost interest?

When it comes to light novels however, I'm very much interested in buying Spice and Wolf. I would love know more about the story of it.

I honestly want to know who picked "I don't even know" on the poll. I really do. Who are you, stranger?

Still, I'm actually surprised so many people watched the animu at least, even today.

I will be the first to say that I watched the anime, then read the light novel, found this website and then made my account. I don't remember jack about either anymore other than the Orihara's family and the reasons I fell in love with Mairu Orihara at the time. I tried watching the anime adaption with her in it, but I couldn't bring myself to love her the same way I had done before. I thought the anime focused more on the incest and less on her being this character that I thought was so free-minded and willing to destroy anything to get her way, as long as it was within her narrow morales. I could probably watch it now and thing differently, but this is all based on memory.

    Time for some internet lore:

I remember watching the first season when I was in highschool, but I honestly can't remember what order seeing it and eventually finding CL happened in. I do know that someone told me about CL from drrrchat (Yes, your admin was a simple drrrchat user at one time, same username as I use now, too. I might even tell you about The Bar one day.) and I eventually stayed here because the community was more cohesive and the chat was better.

Drrrchat (and similar chat sites that sprung forth from its death) was a melting pot of the drrr-fanbase internet, struggling to find familiar faces after more than a day, always gross fetish and furry chats among the normal conversational ones. And even then, in the conversational rooms there were still weebs and "saika" trolls that wanted to RP. It was like a battlefield of stupid. The one coherent form of tracking drrrchat users that knew eachother was making deviantart groups, but again, no one payed any mind to them...and eventually the handfuls of users who knew eachother were lost to anonymity. Poet, S0ngBird, RoxyUsagii, the list of old names that no longer have faces goes on...

Also I remember, it was @KingCoal that told me about CL.

here's some more lore for ya:

I watched Durarara!! because my freind @Infinite-kamisama reccomended it to me, after that she showed me the Dollars BBS site and told me i should try and find the password. Watching the show i loved the music most out of everything

When I found the password i had a fun time looking through some of the threads there but they were kind of inactive in appearance, people obviously created content but there wasn't a way to check the latest posts or talk to anyone or anything like that because you could just change your user name every post if you wanted to, so searching for a way to talk to people I discovered the 'chatrooms' tab.

Through the chatrooms tab the top site was drrrchat.com so i went there and discovered hundreds of users in loads of chatrooms within the site. I started making friends with people and chatted for hours, keeping track of who I knew as best I could. At one point I could recognise at least 70% of the usernames of everyone online and had chatted to them at some point, that was before the site descended in to 90% smut rooms.

On Drrrchat i met @Cyth who added me to a facebook group known as 'Alpha Gang' or 'AG' which had a fair amount of history of its own, other users I met there were @Sheep, @OHHH, @PigeonSpider, @holg0290, @Kei_, @Nad and about 30 more

One time i was backreading our facebook group chat (which would recieve like 2000 messages a day........) when i found @OHHH and @PigeonSpider talking about CL, and so I clicked the link that they shared and made an account here.

From there I went into chat and the first things I remember are talking to @Zyxx23 and @Coldu, and @squareof3 teaching me what 'v' means in chat. ~~

I chose to stay here because when people come back they often come back with the same name and your experiences with them come back with it
