  1. Steam Sale Sins

    It is that time of the year again: A Steam Sale has opened up and emptied wallets around the globe. We missed out on the official start due to the recent downtime, but oh well.

    This thread is not primarily intended to share good deals or the likes - if that happens in the process, that's great though!

    Instead, please share your Steam Sale Sins. That means, share how much you blew on games again this sale, or one in the past, and what you spent it on. Maybe you even bought an embarrassing visual novel thingy, or Panty Party? What sins do you have up your sleeve?

    I haven't bought much that's embarrassing really on Steam (or anything else...I'm a pure virgin angel). But I did buy Akiba's Trip a while back. You beat people up and take their clothes. Kinda lewd really.

    @Taro_Tanako YOU FUCK, I MADE THIS FOR YOU AND YOU GO TO SLEEP AFTER SAYING THANKS?! YOU'D BETTER POST HERE AS SOON AS YOU WAKE UP, SURFER BOY! Oh, good, you actually did post after all. Liar.

    Now, so far I've bought...

    I also bought Batman: Arkham Knight via BundleStars for 5 bucks and am happy to say that it still runs like garbage after all these years. Rocksteady, you cunts...

    I'm really loving Age of Rivals. It is a cool, unique card game about managing resources and outplaying the opponent through card effects and clever damage-assignment. I'm not a master at it, obviously, but damn if it doesn't feel satisfying when things pay off against either the AI or another player. It is also on mobile for a buck.

    Also, I'll raise Taro's Akiba's Trip: I bought Monster Monpiece for 5 bucks a while back. Yep.

    I can't really say I've done much with my low budget this year ;-; So I only ended up getting 2 games. So only now to realize when i looked into my bank account... I dodged debt by a few dollars ;A; AND I WAS ABOUT TO GET SOME EXTRA DLC. Here's what i got ; ~;

    I've yet to put any hours into them yet, but tonight i surely will!

    I got Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 2, and I just gotta say that it was probably a mistake. Got it for 8 bucks, which is a good price for what it has to offer, but the online community for it is dead. Was looking forward to the multiplayer, but it's almost impossible to find a game that's not a Last Stand gamemode (which may as well be a custom game for Starcraft 2), I mean it's still fun, but definitely not worth it. It's saving grace is hopefully going to be the story mode, which I have not started yet.

    Your mistake was buying Dawn of War II (or Chaos Rising, for that matter) and not Retribution. DoW II and Chaos Rising both used the same online infrastructure via Games for Windows Live originally and Retribution was the first game to migrate to Steam. A few years down the line they migrated both the base game and CR to Steam as well, but since Retribution is the latest, biggest and arguably best of the three, the community stayed there.

    Besides, don't play DoW II and CR for the multiplayer. Their campaigns are excellent, enjoy them, then get into Retribution for the more mediocre campaigns (due to having basically the same mission structure for all factions with just varying plot scenes and opening/endings) and do the MP there.
