    Destiny 2 Logo

Destiny 2 is an online only multiplayer shooter developed by Bungie (the creators of the Halo series) where you roam the galaxy shooting space turtles and looking for phat loot. Gameplay is similar to the first game, which is a first person shooter with RPG elements. If you have ever played the Halo games, the way it plays feels similar to those, but with a loot system like Diablo 3 or Borderlands.

    Classes

HunterAgile and daring, Hunters are quick on their feet and quicker on the draw.

Hunters are catered a little more towards speed and DPS, their class ability is a dodge roll which is great for avoiding enemy fire and will either reload your weapon or refresh the cooldown of your melee ability depending on the selected perk.

TitanDisciplined and proud, Titans are capable of both aggressive assaults and stalwart defenses.

The Titan fills a tank role and is slightly slower with more resilience. Their class ability will allow you to either create a knee-high wall for cover - reloading your weapon when taking cover, or a larger wall which damages enemies passing through it.

WarlockWarlocks weaponize the mysteries of the universe to sustain themselves and devastate their foes.

Warlocks are great at providing support for a fireteam with a class ability which lays down a static circle to either continuously heal allies or increase their firepower. They have a higher recovery stat than the other classes.

If you'd like a more thorough breakdown of the classes and abilities, Eurogamer does this rather nicely.

Yes! The EDZ looks amazing so far. I think it's great that everything is more focused around patrol and you can just do so much in the one area. Looks like running around as a solo player is more viable too

@Xyopq I was on the fence about Destiny 2 after the beta tbh was pretty dry and wasn’t ultra hype, but that trailer showed off a lot of stuff that had me like “mmmm kinda cool” so why not it’s not like I hated destiny 1. As for a clan @Kirn has you there lol. Colorless themed not so much, but a clan would be cool to have. I’d join in and play pretty often. I’ll be playing on PS4 most likely too. I hope more people will get in, but it’s also a good thing there no real shortage of people looking for groups either.

Anyone else gonna pick it up?

    Yes.

I was thinking of creating a colorless themed clan

Fuck no, that is a retarded idea.

Also, that's a crappy opening post, explaining almost nothing about the game for those who has no idea what it's about.

@Kirn Point taken, I'll update the post with more info after some sleep. Is it such a bad idea for a clan? Even if we only got a few people on that played semi-regular it may be enough to earn the in game bonuses

@Xyopq everything CL touches turns to shit. That's the law. The most success we had was playing together in Ragnarok and Spiral Knights. Both lasted about few weeks. Trust me, any retard would have better chance joining some actual clan for any possible bonuses.

Speaking of, official game site got pretty good list of clans. Now, console people are well-represented and taken care of, but I don't see good PC options yet. You can see a few here if you are interested. Now, as I am going to play this on PC, and I absolutely hate Russian clans, I will try to use the combination of sites like that and, hopefully, some connections I might make in the upcoming PC beta.
Plus, after PC release I expect big PC clans to get properly represented on official site, too. That's my plan, and that's what I would recommend to most who want to play this for top-tier content.

Yeah, you're right, we've never had any luck with clans outside CL. Still, a man can dream. I didn't join a clan in D1, mostly because of the lack of representation in game, but also because every one I looked at was full of 12yo whiners or skilled elitist pricks. I'm hoping the new system will bring a few more clans with players who aren't too worried about the best loadout but know how to play. I'd rather spend an extra 1/2 hour doing a raid, but having a good time than a quick one sweating DPS bullets and being relieved when it's over.

The bungie.net clans page seems to not be working, but I'll keep an eye out there, as well as the link you supplied (thanks for that). I hope the Beta goes well, I'd have joined you but my PC is elsewhere and my laptop can't run it.

Well, quite honestly, yes, I don't really see good options to search for a clan. Especially for PC for now. I blame filthy console peasants mentality, as they readily use PC infrastructure, and right now the official development is going to some Destiny 2 smartphone app bullshit to keep track of your progress and clan.
But they do make clans into a pretty big deal, and recently we got revealed some clan bonuses. And it's on Battle.net. Now it's not Blizzard game, so I am not sure if they will have Desriny 2 forums on Battle.net site. Would be pretty cool if they do, cause there would be community forums for sure, and in that case that would be like the best place to look for clans. If not... I am sure PC clans will organize some shit, and there will be dedicated teamspeak servers. Problem is, PC release is coming late compared to filthy console release, but of well. I expect, before the end of a year we will have some place to see PC clans properly.

Here's another useful link. Destiny tracker site seems to be preparing for D2 time, and on their forum, where they have dedicated clan search board, there are already people setting their clans up for new release. Including even some PC clans.

Okay, so PC on controller has some aimbot bullshit built into the game, big problem for pvp. Don't really care if they keep it in for pve, but they have to take that out of pvp. Frames are locked to 30fps on cutscenes.

Pve is very fun, from what little content there is for the beta. It's still fun. It's a very beautiful game, runs very well on a 980ti max settings. Over 100fps at all times. Like, suuuuuuper beautiful game!

Yeah, apart from the aim assist with a controller, Ive heard nothing but great things from the Beta especially the optimization.

I am playing PC beta now, and it plays really well. Smooth, fast, I got zero complaints about performance. Gameplay takes a bit of getting used to, cause it's not exactly the usual FPS experience, but on technical side - pretty damn good.

Hey @Kirn how is the PC version going? I've stopped playing fanatically on the PS4, but jumping in each week to complete the Milestones. Hunter still feels a little underwhelming compared to the other two classes, but regardlessly having fun with Nightstalker.

I am playing Arcstrider and having a lot of fun punching enemies in the face and then taking out huge electric staff and killing everyone like lightning-god version of Darth Maul. I die a lot though, but that's just me having to adjust to how this game should actually be played.

Anyways, having a lot of fun with game - good shooter, good gun variety. Plus, the story is fun too, I missed playing Bungie shooters since the Halo days. Got to 289 light level yesterday. Can probably grind into more... I really should grind into more, cause I feel that from 290+ I can start trying prestige nightfalls, which is like the one thing I haven't tried yet. And of course, raid is coming out today, so I will do that, with clan or as part of destiny tracker group, not sure.

Game looks and runs great - obviously, this is how you are supposed to play FPS games, ffs! With mouse and keyboard! Though, PC running is obviously not without problems. I think there were troubles with some video cards, that are now fixed, but there still remains one pretty annoying glitch - when you play for a long time, it all starts to lag horribly. And people have connected this with clan screen - on clan screen on PC player roster is broken, it tries loading constantly, and never finishes. So people reported that leaving clan fixes the problem, but leaving clan makes you miss out on sweet gear rewards, so yeah, fuck that. When you restart the game, everything fixes for a while, but it is just annoying, so hope they will fix it all soon.

But other than that - yeah, this is good game. I like the gameplay, and I like the interactions. Also, punching people.
