  1. Your Creative Pursuits

I figured we could make do with a new, unified thread for all things creative. We have art threads, writing threads, video threads and all, but nothing where you can just quickly drop by and share what you're currently being creative with, regardless of medium or genre constraints. So here we have it.

    Limits of this thread:
Keep things SFW whenever possible. If you have to share NSFW art, use spoiler tags:

On top of that, please only share things that concern your own pursuits, not anybody else's. While I wouldn't frown over you showing off your inspiration, piece of equipment you got for your works or help resources you're following or reading up on, this is not a place for random Youtube videos just because you adore them, unless you're, say, making a song cover or playing with a particular drawing and want to link the original for reference. Just make sure you provide context as to how somebody else's work relates to your own!

So, CL, what do you have going for you lately? Anything you're willing to share with the rest?

Ah, DC, it's so nice to see this post! i might bump it a lot. so yeah i guess in here i will share some of my architectural designs recently, as it is a bit weird to post something like my designs into the art thread.

This is a design contest i (and a team consisting of 3) just participated in. The contest is about to make a space that can reduce people's stress in their daily life, and so we made this thing we call RUANG ANTARA or translated as "THE SPACE BETWEEN"

Jakarta, as the center government and business has become a very busy town, where the people are used to have a "fast life". Not all people who works in Jakarta also live in Jakarta; they live in the neighbouring city which is actually pretty far, and their mainly used transportation is by the Commuter Line. They go through the commuter line everyday, with tired body, stressed mind, crowded and having no privacy.

This design is located to be in one of the Commuter Line Station in Bogor, the station that embarks passenger to Jakarta from its neigboring cities. THE SPACE BETWEEN acts as an Emotional Wash, treating people senses to relax as they pass through, just like an automatic car wash. Healing them from their stress, the corridor provides a space where people could take a small mind break as they pass through.

It's a really cool idea. I can imagine walking through there and becoming instantly chill. Is that glass they would be walking on? One thing to consider would be that it would become dirty and scratched over time.

I also like the waterfalls on either side - very tranquil. Is there much rain in Jakarta?

@Xyopq thank you so much! glad you can feel the space only through rendered images. it is glass, yeah. tempered one thick glass. and it's probably right, the maintenance would be very hard indeed, and we haven't thought about that.

The water walls are yeah, probably like our main idea about chilling people by passing through. Much rain in rainy season, of course. but the existing corridor right now at Bogor station is also an open space like that. so yeah.

Also, the committee has given us news that our design went in through big 25 out of 100 designs! not yet sure about the exact rank but that relieves us.

I've been getting back into the business of painting miniatures over the past month or so, ever since I got my Shadespire set and range of paints. Started painting up some primed Space Hulk Terminators for practice and since it was readily available and a sore spot that I never finished painting them, but after my spray primer arrived, I went straight to Shadespire's Core warbands.

Finished them by now, here's a few photos from a week or so ago:

I'm pretty satisfied with the results, especially considering I haven't touched a brush in what, 7 years? Anyway, I've since moved on to painting skeleton dudes and dwarves, but those aren't ready for photos yet.

I'm working on my first AMV yay! Going to be making a skateboarding montage to the track 'The Power of Love - Huey Lewis and the News'

Finished my Magore's Fiends warband. Potatocam, but there they are:

I'm also already working on Stormsire's Cursebreakers, one of the two Nightvault core warbands. For some reason I've been working on them almost nonstop today, and haven't even made dinner yet. Let alone lunch.

Feeling like sharing, this is another design contest i've ever been doing. With a couple of friends.

    Ruang untuk Kita

"A story about what they deserve."

The background issue that is being the topic of this design was about disabled people. Those who were disabled with special needs are feeling discriminated because there are boundaries between us and them.We have some kind of "border" that makes we can enjoy some things while they can't, including the beauty of a shore side.

This space is designed for them who have special needs so they are able to enjoy the atmosphere of the shoreside and to eradicate the boundaries between us and them.

(TO BE HONEST AND BOLD, we were so out of idea and i came out from a cafe toilet to them and i shouted "EUREKA!". The floor plan looks like dick from above and yes it's inspired of a shape of a dick)

No stairs, only ramps compatible with all the wheelchair universal standard. A reading space for them who feels like enjoying the beach with books. A long, nice space towards the sea for a nice view, accessible for wheelchair users and elders. A wheelchair friendly ramps to the toilet and also a disabled-friendly toilet configurations.

I've been working my way through the Hellboy Board Game's miniatures the last two weeks, bit by bit. Finally got a handle on almost all the different model types and can see the finish line on most of them.

    WIP shots:

And finished Giant Frogmonster & Sadu-Hem:

Got some stuff I haven't made any recent photos of (including the main agents, actually), and I haven't touched a single live Nazi yet (and I got 30 of those, in five different types, plus characters and a turkey...), but those are expansion material anyway. Right now I should be focusing on finishing the core agents and all 20 frogmen, but I can't be bothered to paint more green this week.

I kinda took my confidence up and opened myself for a design image render commission. two students of interior design took it and they paid me pretty well. Here's some result.

designs aren't mine. rendered by me.
