What I've been watching so far:

    Hanebado!

This was one of the first pilots out of the gate and I watched it mostly on a whim, and left stunned by the intensity of the first episode, the stellar animation, the passion behind it all and I dig the drama. I can only recommend it.

    Island

This started out looking pretty generic and weird, but quickly opened up some mystery plot that actually seems fairly intriguing. A mysterious, isolated island, disappearances, time travel, assassination elements, a girl who can't go into the sun... It's pretty full of elements that may or may not clash in the future, but as far as the pilot goes, it opened up just enough doors to provide a good amount of entertainment and intrigue. It's also based on a VN, so hopefully there'll be more plot than nonsense.

    Harukana Receive

This one looked like it'd be more ecchi than it actually is. After one episode, I'd say the Ecchi tag on MAL is utterly deceptive, because all there is to it that could be ecchi right now is... well, they're playing Beach Volleyball, which means they're wearing bikinis. How lewd.

No, but seriously, I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't have the intensity of Hanebado!, but I don't think I could take another sports anime of the same caliber this season anyway. It's more upbeat, though with drama looming just around the corner. The protagonist is bubbly and entertaining, her partner is shy and timid right now, but got a fuckin' pet turtle, so she wins in my book.
There's already a healthy dose of rivalry going on, the animation is rather pretty, especially the eye effects used, and the comedy is comfy. I'll keep up with this one.

This one.... had me bored as fuck with its first episode today. I couldn't believe it hadn't been an entire episode yet when the first half ended and another manga chapter got tackled. It had a neat-enough premise, but the longer it went on, the less amused I was with it. It wasn't good comedy, in my opinion. It dragged on, the pacing felt off, the gags fell flat... I don't understand how this is being hyped as the savior of comedy anime this season. I don't see it. Maybe it'll get better, but I don't know if I even want to bother with episode 2 when it releases. It felt like a massive waste of time, and when it was over, I turned my back on the TV and took a nap instead.
