  1. Upcoming Anime General Talk!

Well, well, well. Another slew of announcements just popped via anime convention events, and I think it is time to have a proper thread for upcoming shows. So here goes.

    Thread Rules:

    • Please keep discussion about upcoming anime series, movies, OVAs and so forth.
    • Try to add key visual and/or PV, if available. The more info, the better, of course.
    • Talk about source material like manga and light novels using spoiler tags where appropriate!
    • Please make a post per announced anime, if possible, That way, reactions to particular announcements can be posted as sub-posts, keeping conversation easier to follow.
    • Once an Anime starts airing officially (excluding pre-screenings at events ahead of time), please move discussion of the show to its own thread, or the seasonal discussion thread. Feel free to link over to them.

@Teru It's surprisingly popular, with an 8+ average on MAL, a few awards / nominations and was officially licensed for an English release. It's also only 5 volumes long in its manga source, so chances are, we might see the whole thing animated.

Not enough space animu, in my eyes, so this will hopefully turn out well. Lerche inspires confidence as well.

I wonder if they are going the follow the manga storyline....

Either way I don’t think it’s going to be as good as the original run.

@DarkChaplain it’s going to be over 26 episodes? I’m surprised if that’s the case. I didn’t see the other zodiac characters in the trailer so I just assumed it was going to be the same as the old anime.

I really did not like that the art looks the way it does. The bad ass characters don’t look as bad ass. Like it’s almost too “kira kira” even though the actual storyline gets pretty dark and heavy. I feel like it kind of takes away from that atmosphere. Maybe I am bias because I’m too into my nostalgia of the original series

The only thing I hated about the original run was the fact that it ended and the Japanese voices. I watch the English dub version, which was much better than the original Japanese cast imo.

Can you put that first next time, because then I'll know to stop reading right away =/

@DarkChaplain Well that’s your opinion, I found that Tohru’s voice was too squeaky and Yuki voice literally sounded like a women which would have made more sense if the voice actor was playing Akito.

All I know about this show is that some girl 6 or 7 years ago really liked it, and wanted me to watch it. So I guess when this comes out I'll do that lol.

    Kabukichou Sherlock

This one has me dumbfounded. I need to watch it. Mrs Hudson being a transvestite, Holmes kinda hoboesque, and even Mary Morstan is included? Wowzer. The tone of the PV is absolutely bonkers, and I love it. Bring it on, Japan, give me your best Holmes parody!

    Azur Lane adaptation PV

Well, this is the age of mobile games getting adapted into full blown animu, I guess. You like ships, don't you?

    Vinland Saga

Surprisingly, this still hasn't been slated for a particular season. Really looking forward to it, though, especially since it's something very out of the ordinary both thematically and stylistically. Wit also has a hell lot of quality animu under its belt.
