as a practicing jw im shocked to see how much false information is spread about us. im here to shine some light on the subject. feel free to state what u have heard about jws. if u have any questions post them here. and ill try to answer them as best to my ability using not my beliefs nor traditions but actual textual references.(aka the bible). jws don't change in beliefs from country to country. we all believe the same thing. so lay it on me btw i will be posting the text and location found in the bible. also i will quot may popular bibles. so non of this "your bible is different than my bible." junk. i will say this once and once only. the bible is the bible is the bible. tho the wording may change the meaning is the same

Is "Jehovah Witness Tread" some crazy code-word for a new propulsion system designed to replace continuous tracks on tanks?

Before we begin, I would like to note that there is substantial difference between the contents of the canons of different Christian traditions.

This list is a good place to start.

Secondly, I admire your courage. You're opening yourself up to a lot of ridicule and many difficult questions. Good luck.

i fidn ti hilarious, wether you believe it or not, that soemone states to ahve seen god or jehovba when its clearly impossible: if hes not real, then it simpossible of course; but If hes real, or IF you believe in him, then the lore explicitly states that you CANNT look directly at him or oyu die or go insane, and that moses, a prophet who is said to have been speakign with god on a regular basis , went unconscious and/or blind for a week just from lookign at gods/jehovas feet!

Wait, God isn't white, blond haired, blue-eyed?

You don't even have to be a Jehovah Witness to be ridiculed, you can simply be a Christian.

You don't even have to be a Christian to be berated, you can simply be a close-minded individual that provides no logical basis for the illogical beliefs he is forcibly trying to impose on others.

You don't even have to be a close-minded individual that provides no logical basis for the illogical beliefs he is forcibly trying to impose on others, you can simply be @crazymexican.

I know nothing about Jehovah's Witnesses other than Michael Jackson and his families are one.

What separates you from the others?

I know when I was little, Jehova's witnesses used to go from home to home to preach. Honestly, it was annoying, but since they were really polite people, my father always let them in(unlike anyone else in the neighbourhood). Then he asked them if they cut their limbs off when they sin.

God, the boogieman of grown-up people.

@eterno I'm pretty sure only one of Michael Jackson's sisters is actually a Jehovah's Witness, not himself or the rest of them. Also I'm surprised to have seen even one more Jehovah's Witness on this site, let alone two or three! However @crazymexican, sites like these are never ideal places to talk about your faith in.

    <= ish also a Jehovah's Witness

i don't really see why this religion is hated so much..we just don't celebrate holidays...and some of us go out to teach about the bible.. ಠಠ some people lightly reject us (we dont really mind if you do) & its like we ruin your whole day ಠ

@Wolfangle Some people hate religions in general and don't want to talk about it because they either 1) Thinks they're going to hell (If religious) 2) Don't believe in religions at all (and most of the time, they have a religion of origin that traumatizes them).

To put it simply, NO ONE wants to talk about religions and people are going to hate it more when you go door to door about it. ESPECIALLY when you happen to try to chug an atheist.

I think this movie is relevant to your question

Also, as for preaching to believers of another religion or another denomination, you might think you're preaching the truth but for them, IT'S HERESY.

@eterno watched that movie..yea was a bit funny.. and when someone doesnt want to hear us..we sometimes just like it if you take our magazine...even if you are just gonna throw it away. =.= and some only try to get you to do a study when you seem really interested... so if you have your own religion, then fine~ reject us..if your not interested or an strong atheist... reject us

personally, i dont like forcing faith on people or having a debate on things...

and as for mentioning it as HERESY...ugh =.= if your happy and believe in god.. then fine..you believe in god, -preaching for that person has ending till next time- and next time might be in 2 or 3 months..most likely 3 months

@eterno simply put JWs are the only religion that systematically preaches the bible house to house on such a world wide scale we believe that Jehovah is god and Jesus is the son of God and finally we base our teachings on the bible not on traditions and doctrinaires.

Okay...I see no formal discussion or debate in here. Let me get you guys rolling, but before I do...let me state here that I do not believe in God.

Let's see...what do I know about Jehovah's Witnesses -They don't celebrate Holidays -They are Presbyterians with a hierarchy -They don't salute the flag etc and have been accuse for "lack of Nationalism" -Some members are especially appointed the position to go door to door preaching. -They reject blood transfusions as it violate's "God's Law" or a passage of the bible -They do not follow ALL the bible, and believe some parts are purely symbolic. -They do not support same sex marriage and homosexual relationships as such is filed to be extremely "sinful" -They do not believe in Hell nor it's existence but believe the state of human form is the punishment for sin. [I don't think I explained this quite right, but this is what I DO know.] -The religion is Patriarchal -They believe in eventual Armageddon

    Yay.

@Lumiex "-Some members are especially appointed the position to go door to door preaching." no one is appointed to go door to door. all jws partake in the door to door ministry. from newly appointed publishers in the congregations to the members of the governing body in bethel. i personal do roughly 15 hours of door to door ministry a month

luke 8:1 "Shortly afterwards he went journeying from city to city and from village to village, preaching and declaring the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him,"

    god requires us to preach

Romans 10:9,10 "For if you publicly declare that ‘word in your own mouth,’ that Jesus is Lord, and exercise faith in your heart that God raised him up from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one exercises faith for righteousness, but with the mouth one makes public declaration for salvation."

1 Corinthians 9:16 "If, now, I am declaring the good news, it is no reason for me to boast, for necessity is laid upon me. Really, woe is me if I did not declare the good news! "

@crazymexican ._. next time just edit your post instead of triple posting and save space

@Lumiex hell, we really mean that there is no hell cause god doesnt want us to live forever in torment...what we mean is that its just death..no hell..
