5 cm/ sec is really nice :3
My Neighbor Totoro!!!! I grew up with this since my mom got it for me and I still watch it now
Have you ever longed for someone, did you ever dream of someone, touched the spark, but missed the connection, felt so warm, as the world turned cold. Did you fall in love, as fast as flowers falling from trees. This is how fast you fall in love, 5cm per second..... -5cm per second
Personal Opinion: 5cm per second is one of my favourites it gets me every time, there isn't a lot of anime that makes me get a bit tearful, but this is one them. It makes you fell bit happy and sad at the same time. It makes you realize that you have to cherish your time with that special someone and the moments that you spend with them. For you never know what might happen.
I definitely recommended this anime, this is one of those that needs to be watched, its a master piece.
Some good ones for people who want movies with deep meanings are 'The Girl Who Leapt Through Time' and 'Kotonoha no Niwa'. 'Ponyo', 'Howl's Moving Castle' and 'My Neighbour Totoro' are my all time favourites and are really cute films~ ^_^
After scanning through the search query I finally found the thread for my needs lol
There were already so many suggestions posted prior that I thoroughly enjoyed (Miyazaki and Hosoda films are serious must-watches), so I'll add a few others that I can think of rn
Your Name (Kimi no Na Wa) (Synopsis)
A lot of people have been calling this one of the best non-Miyazaki anime films, and while I don't completely agree with the bandwagon praise, I definitely see the beauty of this movie's message. Not to mention one of my favorite bands made the entire soundtrack (and it's AWESOME give it a listen on Spotify yo)
A Silent Voice / The Shape of the Voice (Koe no Katachi) (Synopsis)
The subs for this one actually came out recently, so I watched it with my friend yesterday lmao. We're both fans of the manga and were so excited to hear that KyoAni made a movie for it. The film does a really good job at compacting the exposition in a way that people who haven't read the manga can understand where the conflict was coming from, but the development of relationships between the multiple characters left a little to be desired imo. Nonetheless, this is a movie with both heartwarming and heartwrenching moments, and I do insist that you give it a go!
Wolf Children (Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki) (Synopsis)
One of my favorite animated films of all time tbh with a lovely soundtrack (can you tell I'm a sucker for BGM)
Such a beautiful story that portrays the hardships of a single parent and kids that are coming of age
points for effort! i'll have to actually watch these now
