If you don't know what vocaloid is, here is some information to help you understand.

vocaloid- is a singing synthesizer. The software enables users to synthesize singing by typing in lyrics and melody. It uses synthesizing technology with specially recorded vocals of voice actors or singers. To create a song, the user must input the melody and lyrics. A piano roll type interface is used to input the melody and the lyrics can be entered on each note. The software can change the stress of the pronunciations, add effects such as vibrato, or change the dynamics and tone of the voice. Each Vocaloid is sold as "a singer in a box" designed to act as a replacement for an actual singer. The software was originally only available in English and Japanese, but as of Vocaloid 3, Spanish, Chinese and Korean will be added. The software is intended for professional musicians as well as light computer music users and has so far sold on the idea that the only limits are the users' own skills. Japanese musical groups Livetune of Victor Entertainment and Supercell of Sony Music Entertainment Japan have released their songs featuring Vocaloid as vocals. Japanese record label Exit Tunes of Quake Inc. also have released compilation albums featuring Vocaloids. Artists such as Mike Oldfield have also used Vocaloids within their work for back up singer vocals and sound samples.

The basic and most common vocaloids are as follows:

    Rin Kagamine

    Len Kagamine

    Megurine Luka

    Hatsune Miku

Even if the chances are likely that we know what Vocaloid are, you should at least provide an explanation anyways in the opening post.

After being a vocaloid fan for 3 or 4 years I can officially say there is no way to have a favourite song. There's just too many. Even narrowing it down to producer... it's really hard, I have a large amount I love. Wowaka, Deco*27, Yuyoyuppe, Fullkawa... the list just goes on. All I really know for sure is that Gumi is my favourite.

What Elegy said. Plus, there are probably over ten new Vocaloid songs that comes out daily. We really only know less than half of all the Vocaloid songs out there. (Let us remember that Vocaloid is actually pretty damn old and that Japanese were not the ones to create "Vocaloid"; they just made it famous.) In addition to all that, because there are so many different styles that comes along with it and so many new releases per week, your favourites would really start to switch up every two days or so. (Coming from a person that stalks NND's vocaloid section daily for new songs.)

Oh, and just saying, MEIKO isn't really common these days anymore. Most producers used her for the "mature" voice but after Luka's release, she's been pushed waaayyyy down on the charts of being "common". Actually, if anything, MEIKO and KAITO both pretty much got replaced by Gakupo/Gakupoid and Luka. There weren't any new and "popular" songs using them as main singers for quite a while now... (Except maybe Mothy/AkuP. Because Mothy is Mothy. He likes to screw with our brains. Mind you, his Evil series still has that tiny possibility that it has yet to end, courtesy to "Re: Birth" which connects Evil to the Clockwork series and then things he says on his blog...)

And with how fast Vocaloids are actually updating and developing, I have long given up on finding a "favourite" of anything related to them. Yes, that includes those Godly Utatteimita. (There comes a new God-like singer every freaking three months. It's impossible to choose a favourite. The fandom itself is too big.)

    @Momi Amen.

On a brighter note though, the solution to your "too big fandom" is to make everything your favorite. After all, the more the merrier.

Meito and Kaito appends could bring them back up, or at very least I'd like to have it happen anyway... In Kaito's case I still find him getting songs out, far fewer, but still sometimes. He's really quite popular still, though not really for his voice.

Ah well... favorites or not, who ends up singing, who's creating the music, it doesn't matter. A song you love is a song you love.

Majority of Kaito's songs these days are either always paired up with Len/Gakupo/all three + ocassionally with Kiyoteru for the fangirls...

Problem with that is that each time a new song comes out, it just literally shatters your love for that old one... And then after three months, you go back to that old song, a new song comes out,

cycle repeats. And this is exactly why I have over 50GBs of songs dedicated to Vocaloid. (out of the ~387GB NND folder on my external hard drive)

Personally, I like this one the best. These videos came from the Putin Series. I have no clue what it was about, but based on what I say, Miku and Len are trying to help Rin from within her interior.

At this rate, I will be hogging this thread. So this will be the last video. I will go make my own vocaloid thread and filled it with random videos for the public.

The one thing I love about Vocaloid is the PVs because they're so damn beautiful! I want to make one of my won someday, possible for 'Gomenne Gomenne'?
