The Most Epic AMVs of All Time!!!

Okay... this is probably the most sick, twisted, evil and just plain wrong AMV I have seen in years, if not ever. So yeah, it's great. Maybe could have been better technically, but the whole concept and the story there.... pure gold. Now, the anime is Shingeki no Kyojin and the song is... parody of 'Oops I did it again' by Max Raabe. And really, if you know that parody, you can already wonder - how the hell that song and that anime even go together? Well... that's how!

It's not often that I see new purely BeBop AMVs. So any of those is an event. And any good one is a great joy. So here it is - BeBop AMV. This one has a short monologue from Rock'n'rolla movie, and continues with the song from the same movie - "I'm the man" by Blackstrobe. Also some Medelssohn music at the start. In any case, there's no lip-synch, but the pacing of the AMV scenes follows the music extremely well. No story here, but a very nice action AMV.

And while I haven't seen good BeBop AMVs recently, I pretty much never saw good Persona 4 AMVs at all before. But since the anime was surprisingly good, it was only a matter of time 'till I stumbled upon one of those. So there it is. Persona 4: Animation AMV, music is "Shinedown - I'm Alive". Again, pretty much a pure action AMV with fast rhythm and damn good visuals.

Two more! And very different too!

First one Kyousougiga AMV. Quite honestly, I never thought about what music would be good for Kyousougiga AMV... and when I heard this... I had this extremely weird feeling that the music is really not what I would have expected, but at the same time it fits perfectly. Music is "Nine in the Afternoon" by Panic! at the disco. Actually, original music video for that is also crazy as hell, so it's actually even better fit than I thought.

This next one is AMV with a story. And what a story it is... It's pretty much a mix of animes, and it's dedicated to all the goddamn people who can't stop shipping the characters. Stop it btw. No, really. Anyways, the song here is "I Ship It" by Not Literally. So yeah, this is the case of video being made after the song first and foremost. Great fun that one is.

I just remembered another very old AMV, that I still consider to be a timeless gem. This one goes with a bit of a back-story though. And even an additional video. "A Little Less Conversation" Elvis song was in 1968, for some movie, I think. Then, more than 30 years later, this song was taken and remixed by some Dutch musician. And what more - they added a video to it, which made it obvious that the guy who did it was on drugs. But still, it became a great hit known as "Elvis vs. JXL". Here's the video of that.

And a few years later, in 2004, one AMV maker decided to remix the video of the remix. Yeah, probably also was on drugs. What came out is pretty much the absolute same video for the absolutely same song, but using anime characters. This is a mix of a lot of anime and even one Playstation game, and this amv is known as "Elvis vs. Anime". Being this old, it doesn't have a good resolution that people can afford in their anime now, but I still hope you would like it.

This one was rather an old amv, back in 2007 (looking at the date, it was perhaps even more older than that, I think this one was a reupload because the video was originally made by Majin Kenshin), it was the time during the early stages of Naruto, when it rises and became all popular in the anime industry, I thought it was very well made, everything in this video matches the song, and this video was also the reason I get to know the band SR-71, good band!

Another BeBop one. Actually, BeBop with a bit of Naruto in it. The song is "What do you do with a BA in English?/It Sucks To Be Me" from Avenue Q. It really helps to know the Broadway show and the characters, because without that more subtle humour of this AMV would be lost on you, but still, even without that, this is pretty damn funny. Not overly big or epic work, but certainly enjoyable.

And another one, since I remembered of it now. You know how I said that this was the most twisted and sick AMV I ever saw? Well, before that one, this one was it. So, this is a mix of anime, books and even a game, with some OC thrown in. Song is "I Can't Decide" by Scissor Sisters. And this is all made in flash, meaning it's all is original animation. Oh, and one more thing - this is pretty much a yaoi pairing haven. Yep. This is sick, twisted, wicked, horrible and, in some way, funny and entertaining enough to look okay. So, knowing how many of you sick people we have here, here's something you will surely like.
Apparently, while this is horrible and silly, the scenes are pretty smart with some pretty nice references. I believe somewhere there was a list explaining every scene even, but I am too lazy to look for it.

So Monty Oum tweeted this AMV of RWBY, it's not always you find a good AMV with a decent song, the music makes it 10x more powerful!

I found this MEP (multi editor project) thing, they made an AMV out of various series, and the best thing is that it's actually pretty enjoyable and full of energy, not to mention very colourful too. Cheers!

You know, it really pains me to see this thread fall into oblivion while I am gone. I guess, that's just another of many things you lose. Oh well. Just because I am such a nice person, and to celebrate the last day of this account, I want to put a few AMVs here. Initially I was going to present 3 AMVs for top 3 mad scientists from the Taro's contest, but seeing how that thing failed, I'll just give you a few nice AMVs I found while preparing for that.

This one was going to be AMV for Edward Steam. Music is "Building Steam" by Abney Park, anime is obviously Steamboy. Steampunk song for steampunk anime, obviously. While imagery and words don't exactly match, the general theme is perfect and video keeps the rhythm of the music nicely.

This one was for my own candidate - Icchan. Music is "Dr. Jones" by Aqua, anime is Angelic Layer. While this is old AMV, and, really, it could have been made much better, surprisingly, song matches the anime better than one would expect.

In a tradition, established during the first characters contest on CL, here are AMVs celebrating the winners of the 1st and 2nd places:

For the 1st place winner, AMV for the Nichijou anime with song BaBOOM!!! by youtube user atpunk01. Song is from Game Grumps webseries, and it's very weird... However, it matches very well with over-emphasis of a lot of Nichijou's moments. It is very hard to find AMV specifically centered on Hakase, but she gets her fair share in this.

2nd place winner Rintaro Okabe from Steins;Gate is generally more known, so here's AMV for him and Kurisu with the song Payphone by MAROON 5. Song is quite good, it paces with the video nicely and this AMV creates good romantic and at the same melancholic feeling.

Don't know about you people, but I am feeling upbeat. So let's bump this with some upbeat tunes. And this AMV is extremely so. The music is "You Can't Stop The Beat" from Hairspray movie, and the AMV itself is the mix of something like 20 anime. And in perfect sync - meaning it looks just as upbeat and positive as it sounds. AMV doesn't require to know the details of the song or the movie, but it may be beneficial for getting some additional funny references.
