(I'm actually surprised there wasn't a thread for this game already, woha.)

Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena, also known simply as Persona 4: Arena in America, is a fighting game sequel to Persona 4 and, to a lesser extent, Persona 3. Developed by Arc System Works under the supervision of Atlus' Team Persona, the game combines the gameplay of BlazBlue with the writing of the Persona series.

Three months after the conclusion of Persona 4, the Midnight Channel makes an unexpected return when Teddie, now dressed in a general's hat and cape, shows up on the screen to announce the P-1 Grand Prix, a bombastic fighting tournament created to discover who is the strongest Persona user in the world.

This game also reunites us with Persona 3 characters; namely Mitsuru, Aigis, Akihiko, and Fuuka. They've formed a team called 'Shadow Operatives', kinda-sorta similar to S.E.E.S. It's nice to see that they haven't broken their friendship.~

Let me be completely bias'd here for a moment, but this has the best presentation of any fighting game I have ever played. You can play for hours and not get tired of it!

It's out in Japan and America, so go and get it if you haven't already!

(Don't argue or spam this thread. Thank you!~)

@Ashkachan: Are you kidding or did you seriously not notice all of the interconnections? You can write a fucking book on the Nyarly drops. Simple to someone who hasn't been paying attention to the previous Persona series, I guess. :V

@SENsei I've played all the Persona series, hell I own 1-3. The entire series could be like... 8 novels long with 600 pages each, lol.

But I meant that Persona 4 Arena's plot is so basic that it makes me wanna cry. The game is really, really well done, but the plot reads like fanfiction, sadly.

@Ashkachan: Owning the series doesn't do much if you can't process the plot. Arena's plot isn't basic, the entire thing is setup to thread apart everything, and setup the bridge to the next game, whenever the fuck that is. Hell, shit, Philemon who was introduced way back might even be from another fucking dimensional cycle, which implies that there are Persona users that break the fucking laws of the fucking universe.

If it read like fanfiction, then that means the English translation was crappy, because I was fine with the JP version.

@SENsei Uhhhh... okay. It really did read like a fanfiction. Compared to say... Persona 2's storyline and plot... yeahhhh.

And no, the translation wasn't crappy, it just read like a fanfic to me. /sighhh

@Ashkachan: How do you know the translation wasn't shitty? If it read like a fanfic, then something was wrong with it, because the original text was fine. And what the fuck are you comparing a supplement game meant to act as a bridge to a main series game for? If you want the storyline of P4, then play P4, Arena is a branch that, again, is meant to build up the next game.

@Ashkachan: How is it spam when it's related to the series and acts as a counterargument your lack of understanding of the entire inter-workings of the universe? Look, your momentary fangirl-gasms don't auto-INT you on the series, nor do they supply you with series insta-直感. You have to actually pay attention to the damn games, and not play through them reading on the surface with your brain shut off. No use playing a game because "the story is deep, therefore I like it" when you don't understand why the story is deep and get caught up in the hype.
