I watched Akuma no Riddle's first episode with my friend @Alkaid a few days ago, and enjoyed it a lot.

The art direction seems clean and the color choices and filters as well as closer shots made it pretty to watch. While not much happened so far outside of introducing a few of the characters and the scenario itself, it made me curious and excited for further episodes.

Unlike, say, the recent Danganronpa anime adaption, Akuma no Riddle does NOT introduce the dozen+ characters right off the bat. While development and characterisations are still limited, it benefitted the pacing and atmosphere.

There's a lot of interesting stuff being set up already, and I can't wait to see how it will unfold. ...and my god, the Opening is great!

What are your thoughts on the first episode?

I watched the first episode and it starts off kind of slow but seems really promising. I think I was about halfway through before it really started to pique my interest. Also like DC said the slowness kind of adds to it's charm as it doesn't shove too many thing at you in one episode. The ideas and characters are introduced bit by bit.
This first episode does just what an introduction should. It grabs your interest without revealing too much information and acts as a hook to keep you watching. I like the characters (already have a few favorites...) and I'm looking forward to the next episode.

I've had my eye on this series ever since I saw it preview on AniChart and seeing as I haven't read the manga, I felt that it'd be a good show to start fresh on.

The animation caught me the moment I started the first episode. It looks beautiful and supports the dark mood of the show. The OP is incredibly catchy and I doubt I'll be skipping it throughout the rest of the series. The ED seems average enough but I can't say the same. As for the content of the episode itself, the concept for the show is explained rather early and the remainder of the episode focuses on character introduction. The episode ended without much of an eye-grabber but, the intriguing characters make up for this and will probably be the reason I see this series to the end.

Practically all of the characters introduced so far have a rather sadistic feel to them which gets major points from me. Not much more can be said about them, however. The two main characters are less so but, subtle hints of emotionally scarring back-stories concerning these two make up for this. I feel like I can't trust any of the characters, not even the two protagonists.

All in all, the series looks fairly interesting. I'd be really happy to see it keep the dark tone it has set all the way through. I really hope the yuri aspect doesn't ruin such a great concept. It's sad to see so many characters as there will probably be little characterization outside of the protagonists but hey, it may surprise me. Here's hoping to a great series.

Judging from CD releases, it appears that the Ending is going to change and feature a different character on every episode. So there's hope for better songs there!

After watching the second episode, I am completely hooked on this anime. Not only did this episode introduce us to the remainder of the cast, but it also began the main plot drive for the anime. Now that I have a general idea of how this show is going to play out, I'm even more excited. The yuri aspect of the show was also started, and it doesn't appear that it will hinder the strength of the show. In fact, I think it will actually add to my enjoyment as long as they don't take it over-board.

Watched the second episode last night. Hot damn did it pick up on pretty much everything. If you thought the first episode to be too slow, watch the second, and you'll get a lot more details on the situation, more characters, more mystery.

Personally, I've got a few points I am wondering about, noticed a few contradictions and am expecting some kind of big twist throughout the series. I just hope they'll finish it.

I watched both episodes a few days ago. I like the art style, and Tokaku seems like she may develop into a rather interesting character as well! Additionally, the second episode brought about some questions that I hope will be explained in the future.

Just finished the 10th episode. By this point, this show has completely taken its potential and thrown it out the window. It's gotten to the point where everything is completely predictable. Within the first minute or so of every episode you can easily determine exactly what's going to happen. Although every character is given a short background describing their intentions, past, etc., it is just discarded moments later and forgotten. There are 3 episodes left apparently. The internet has lied and told me there were only going to be 10. They're really going to have to pull something amazing out of their asses for these last few episodes in order to pick the show back up on its feet. Considering my favourite characters are dead already, they better make it up to me and give this show a damn good ending.

    @Teil
The manga isn't done yet, and since this is the same author as Loveless and co, it is highly questionable if it'll ever be canonically finished. The best we can hope for is an anime original ending that wraps the story up

a nice series, also incredibly predictable for the most part and overall pretty meh but with likable moments (if I had to be critical, it's bad)

don't trust people who don't like ichinose haru
