Gay Marriage In The USA

I'm really happy for all American homosexuals. They don't deserve to be discriminated against, especially if it prevents them from reaping the legal benefits brought about by marriage. One step closer to complete equality, at the very least.

However, this ruling sure has unearthed a ton of controversies, like whether or not other non-traditional relationships should be allowed equal rights as well. Some people have compared gay marriage to pedophilia, albeit not very well argued, but there have been protests. One of the dissenting Justices, Chief Justice John Roberts also brings up polyamorous relationships.

If not having the opportunity to marry ‘serves to disrespect and subordinate’ gay and lesbian couples, why wouldn’t the same ‘imposition of this disability,’ … serve to disrespect and subordinate people who find fulfilment in polyamorous relationships?

So apparently Texas has been witholding marriage liscneses and been refusing to marry gay couples due to the massive protest by Christians of it being against their religion, and Christian priests refusing to marry gay couples.

Once again Texas does not hesitate to show us just how absolutely shitty it is to live there if you are anything but a white conservative christian.
