    I guess to start this off...

    I have played a few games of DnD before (a few not many) and am getting ready to DM for the first time. Scary. I was hoping I could get some feedback on my campaign idea as well as tips on how to be a good DM and what I need to know.

    Quick sum:

    A war is being fought on two fronts, once against the rivaling nation to the west, the other from the terrors in the north. The enemies both out number and have depleted your nations military prowlessness.  The nation losing is losing hope, and the King turns to mercenaries, adventures and recruits to form small bands to strike strategic points, hopefully turning the war.  It is here, your band was brought together. The year is 426, Ballincia Calendar in the ere of King Orienwell the 6th who rules over Rivenmorrow.  Once a glorious domain full of knowledge, heroes, and adventures.  However, that was long ago during the first Orienwell's time.

    I was born playing D&D and was taught how to play it by my father and also the MUD Imagica. I miss the times of D&D, before it was an MMO... But the story seems like fun! I would love to play it, but 1. I dont have a good time for a group to get together constantly and 2. You probably dont live anywhere close to me. makes me cry ;3;

    I want to play D&D, but I don't have enough nerds around to take me in.

    All the nerds are Yu-Gi-Oh players. It saddens me.

    ...You can't play the D&D board game online, can you?

    @Decae well you can... I actually looked into this. There is a freeware program called 'Map Tool' although its UI is kinda steep and requires some basic macro coding to make attacks etc. Lets just say its easier to play the board game... it takes a lot more work on the DM's part. But give it a shot, don't ask where I found the program o-o" I don't remember.

    @Kirn You bring up a good point. Most my players have been mostly uncommunicative on what they want in a campaign so I am just doing what I can. It is true that the game is suppose to be made for them so it makes sense to ask for their opinions and do what they want to do.
