I ,personally, have no prejudice against any genre. Depending on the characters, plot, and just how its played is really how I judge anything.

So I can't say that I hate "ROMANCE SHIT".

uhm nope. if its good, i like it.toradora is one of my most favourite anime; i think your beeing kinda biased here. wether your bias is just a fault for makign you think all guys hate romance and all guys love it, or if your bias is actually the thing makign you hate romance yourself because you unconsciosuly dotn want to allow yourself to enjoy it due to thinking it "unmanly", i dotn know; you should probably try to stop eeing based and then try soem good romance show again. or maybe soemthign with a good chunk of romance, but also good chunks of plot and action, to stomach it better. or whatever.

I don't prefer it, but I don't hate it. I'll watch it if the plot's good and they don't have those god-awful uguu eyes. There's plenty of terrible action animes that I wouldn't touch as well; there's always going to be the occasional bag egg in a genre. And don't you think saying "All guys" hate them is exaggerating it? :/

Not at all! I really enjoyed ToraDora and watched a good portion of Clannad before I forgot about it and dropped it. Clannad wasn't as great as ToraDora imo, mainly because the plot seemed to move really slowly and there was a lack of comedy that I'd come to expect from most anime, but it was good.

In general, if it's well-written and believable I'll like it. If the conflict is very artificial, I'd shy away from it.

Depends, if it's really well-written and heartbreakingly sweet, I'd probably go for it.

I enjoy shows that have anything from a twinge of romance to RomComs to romance dramas. That being said, just because it is a romance show doesn't mean I like it, just like I don't necessarily like all action, psychological, or slice of life shows.

Not necessarily. ToraDora! is pure genius, but that's about the only Romance anime series I've seen. I tend to only like romance when it is included in serious/shounen, like Gurren Lagann, but I don't like pure romance, as to say when the film or series is entirely based upon romance.

I think it depends on the movies/stories/animes/manga's itself but i wouldn't read it if all i knew about it was the romance, I'd need more of a description.

I don't dislike it, but I don't like shoujo romances that have a terrible plot or the female heroine being overbearingly annoying. It kinda brings the heart thumping feeling that I can't feel in the outside world.

I don't think so. A lot of guys I know enjoy romance stories from time to time.

I don't see why it's such a big deal, it's kinda unfair that it's perfectly fine for girls to watch and enjoy shonen and action series while it's considered girly or feminine for guys to enjoy a romance shoujo anime.

And while it is unfair, it doesn't stop me from making fun of my brothers who do XD XD XD

I am the biggest sucker for a good romantic anime/manga/story. Especially romantic comedy.

Guys and girls have been known to fall in love from time to time, so it's really not all that surprising that both sexes would enjoy a good romantic story. Similarly, I know plenty of girls who love to watch crap blow to pieces... so of course they're going to gravitate towards some of the action series.

In in the end, it really just comes down to what you like. Don't make excuses for the things that make you happy to those who would judge you for it. If it makes you happy, then that's all that matters. Those who judge others, will also judge themselves. Pity them, for they will never know true happiness as a result of their own self-imposed limitations.

I LOVE IT! It's just that maybe the romance movies/stories/animes/mangas you guys encountered are shallow or overly cliche. There are a lot of romance stories like that out there so one should really be picky on which one to read/watch first (like me) >:3
