  1. The Legend of Korra (SPOILERS!)

(The other thread is kinda... dead. And since this series is currently running with huge fanfare, we needed a new thread!)

    Summery:

Set seventy years after the events of its predecessor, the series follows the adventures of a rebellious teenage Southern Water Tribe girl named Korra, Aang's successor as Avatar. Her quest leads her to Republic City, a metropolis based off the roaring twenties where crime is rampant and an anti-bender revolt headed by a faction called the Equalists is taking place. Under the guidance of Tenzin, the son of Aang and Katara, Korra struggles to master Airbending and bring harmony to Republic City.

Discuss this amazing series in this (new) thread!

    Amon is a butt!

In all seriousness, I find it quite frightening it's a revolution that Korra has to deal with. I mean, revolutions are terrible. They are most horrendous, because you never know how they end.

At any rate, I hope Amon gets punched in the face. Also, I've seen something on tumblr, being a theory on how Amon is actually faking the bending blocks, can we elaborate on that?

I think he is too. Like Tenzin said before, Aang was the only one who could spirit bend at all.

I think its just some weird chi blocking thing.

@Ashkachan The thing is, do the show creators show such attention to details that we could actually catch them by their word, so to speak? I mean, it could also be:

    • A plot hole
    • Representation of movements can has no real meaning

@Gargron I don't think Bryke, the creators, would create a plot hole in an already fantastic series. (ATLA didn't have many plot holes, mostly stuff you were supposed to guess on.)

Amon is... 70% likely actually faking it. Or maybe he somehow learned spirit bending from someone? (I doubt Aang would teach him.) The series does mention a 'threat' many years before the canon series started... maybe that 'threat' is somehow related to Amon? I highly doubt it's him, but maybe that threat knew how to spirit bend? I mean... Aang, Sokka, and Toph all look extremely serious in the flashbacks.

    ;~~~; Poor Aang...

Whether he is faking it or not doesn't concern me. I worried about how long it will take Korra to master air bending, and then learn about the avatar state. Those two things can help her combat the revolution.

On a more emotional note, now that Mako, Bolin, and Asami will be living on Air Temple Island with her, how will she handle it? She has feelings for Mako, but Asami is there. Not to mention that he kind of leads people on. Sometimes he worries more over Korra than Asami and vice versa. Just pick one and get it over with man. It can't be that hard.

Really like the series so far. I'm a bit sad that it isn't airing this weekend though, it's something that keeps me going through the week.

@Gargron As far as I know, there is some sort of Holiday in America and it isn't airing this weekend. Whether or not they are related things I'm not quite sure, but that seems to be the word I've been hearing from various places. Sucks, ya know?

@Gargron Interesting, I did not know what that was until I looked it up just now. I guess you learn new things everyday after all! I'm only recently coming back to Colorless, but do you guys have any theories regarding the mysteries of Korra so far?

@Gargron Amon's Identity, The father of Lin, Who could potentially be killed as the first season comes to an end, how Amon can take away bending, etc etc..

@Ashkachan I think Lin's a bit too old to be comparable to Toph, at any rate. They share some traits though, like using their feet to see around themselves.

@Gargron It's actually just a theory of mine, for now.

Toph opened a metal bending school, and started a SWAT team of metalbenders. Of course she'd teach them the same techniques and whatnot.

Maybe she saw someone with so much promise, and yet she was an orphan?

Toph seems like the type who'd just... remain unmarried. Ahahaha. Then again, I could be wrong...
