Damn, I just made a thread about it.... I guess ill just copy my post here below.
Here are some things about the surface on their site:
Surface has a 10.6", 16:9 widescreen HD Display. Microsoft's ClearType HD Display technology delivers a great picture for movies. An ultra-wide viewing angle makes it easy for your friends to share in the vibrant experience. The auto-adjusting screen intensity delivers great visual clarity, indoors and out. The addition of the Micro SD card slot means you can bring your entire movie and music collection with you on vacation.
Some activities call for a keyboard. Surface comes with an integrated Kickstand and a revolutionary, 3mm thin, pressure sensitive cover that doubles as a fully functioning keyboard and trackpad. Your Touch Cover connects to your Surface with a single magnetic click. Now you can chat with friends and respond to emails comfortably.
I personally quite like the Surface, since one of the main turn off for me getting an tablet is the idea of an on-screen keyboard. Their thin keyboard + touch pad seems really appealing. Along with a USB port on the tablet, their is a possibility of playing PC games on a tablet.
Some things which I fear about it, is that there will not be many 'apps' on the Surface at first, particularly if it does not sell well. This will mean that there will not be as functions provided by the apps since there will not be many of them. I hope this tablet will be low cost, welcoming students and classes of lower income to buy it, since it does have Office which will be handy for student.
Something I personally don't like is the design of the actual tablet, while the keyboard + track pad is very slick, the actual tablet seems quite bulky.
I hope I get to see this tablet on the stores once its finished and try it out personally.
What do you think of the Surface? What things do you like or dislike about it? Will you consider buying it? How do you think this will rival with the iPad?
