I found this blog post to be really interesting, and thought I'd share it with the rest of you guys. Though before posting my own views, I'd like to hear some of yours first.

You know what's really sad, the fact that I have to use my imagination to IMPROVE the pornography because to my brain, more porn that involves cuddling and affectionate warmth and gentle touching instead of rape-culture in my hentai is sexier than unwilling women being abused, surely I'm not the only one who wants to not feel like a horrible man who's part of the problem when I'm trying to watch or read my sleaze!
Without a doubt, the #happysex tag on Danbooru is my most regularly checked hashtag there aside from the other one I won't mention due to not wanting to look weird, but really, could people please make more hentai that fits in the #happysex tag so I don't end up feeling horrible about myself, when I'm usually looking for smut for relief in times of sad, lonely nights where I probably already feel horrible enough to begin with.
Is it too much to ask for both hentai and regular porn companies to make stuff where I can tell without fear or guilt that any of these women are enjoying this too? I already feel enough like society thinks I'm a creep for looking at porn to begin with, keep up the rapeyness and I'll be too shy to look at much hentai OR porn for years!
I can never stand the idea of rape of any female character by some male person(s). If they get raped by someone or something that is not a guy, I can feel more comfortable, but strictly no guys. I admit that I read really "interesting" ero-manga, but rape is the one thing that makes me sick. I agree with EverybodysDracula. For me, when the characters engage in "happy sex," I feel the most happy, because by the end I don't have to feel horrible since I found a sense of pleasure when someone got forced into having to have someone's "babies," as some ero-mangas say. >.>
The thing about animated/drawn porn is that the people involved aren't real. They're just part of an artist's mind and expressions of scenarios in which the characters aren't in any real danger.
Everyone has their own fetishes, some are fucked up by conventional standards, and I say more power to you if you want to get off on something dangerous without actually harming real people.

I'd also like to point out that porn actors/actresses get paid well enough to not care if they are or aren't enjoying it-- and the line of work they chose comes along with the possibility of engaging in sexual acts that they don't personally find appealing.
There's a mini-meme on 4chan's /h/ and /d/ that lampshades this: any work depicting a consenting couple having sex because you know, they like each other, is considered "sick" and "disgusting" while tentacle rape anime and shitting dick nipples is "hot".
I'll admit that I've watched/read tentacles, dick girls, aliens, girl on girl, guy on guy, gangrape, girls getting pregnant from monsters and then giving birth to little monsters an episode later, etc. But in the end I think my favourites are probably works where intercourse is portrayed positively and both parties are willing to engage in it. Stuff that makes me feel alright afterwards, you know? I think it's probably like this for most people, they will read/watch the crazy shit but enjoy the "regular" stuff more often. You'd have to be like, completely batshit loco to watch the weird stuff exclusively.

After all the depraved material I've spent countless hours looking at, pretty much searching anything in existence, I always come back to happy_sex. It just feels right, and I actually enjoy watching/reading it. I don't think I'd ever bring up any topic that I felt was as private as this, but it really makes a lot of sense. We're all looking at porn, but sharing opinions on it is still weird for me.
I mean, for a quick... moment I'll look up whatever suits me at the time, but I'd prefer taking the time to find something enjoyable and less depraved.
So you would be for pornography featuring children, so long as no real children were harmed? What about hyper-realistic depictions of children/death/rape or anything else?
@acostoss I'm not for it in a supportive sense, no. However, if it keeps would-be predators from harming children, or anyone else for that matter, then it's the lesser of two evils.
Well, then you'd agree that it is a negative thing overall, as is the subject of rape in the Jap eromanga culture?
@acostoss Mostly yes, I'd agree. Aside from the points I made about it possibly being a preventative measure for some people, I personally don't find it an appealing or positive contribution to sexually charged artwork.

I don't know.. If you bring it back to the core of what is 'positive' and what is 'negative', all of this is subjective. Either way, I see the point of the article being not in favour of abolishing such fetishes, but rather making people aware of what they're in to and not what they should be in to because of what is being increasingly exposed.
Then again, that's a very safe interpretation of the article's purpose. Likely seen in this way by one who doesn't like to get on anyone's bad side or someone who either doesn't mind or even enjoys how the 'sex-negative' is being depicted.
