So, there's this game called Blaes of Time for sale on Steam. It's rather fun! Sadly, it's only on sale for a little longer. Like 5 or 6 hours or so from when I make this post! But, it's normally $40, and currently $10 for the sale, or you can get it with the DLC (which is normally $10) for $11 something. Really fun game, and worth a check out xD It wasn't on the front page of the steam sales from what I've seen, or else I wouldn't be posting this! If it was on the page of sales at one point then my bad! But, overall I haven't heard much of this game and it seems like a gem. Definitely give it a shot if you can. There's even a demo to try!

I'm not really sure what to compare it to, but from what I've played so far it seems like it plays similar to Devil May Cry.

    MUUUV AAYUMEEEEE!

No. Just no. I've downloaded it on release and have hardly EVER played a game with a WORSE legacy and dub. The Metacritic average of 63 on PC is extremely generous, especially considering it does only stand out due to the lack of comparable titles on the platform. The PS3/X360 scores are in the low 50s, and thats much more accurate. While I usually ignore Metacritic altogether, especially "professional" scores, in this case it is fairly accurate. The game feels uninspired, the combat is bland, the controls are unprecise (and believe me, I've hooked up my DualShock2 just to try how it performs with a gamepad - no better.

The voice acting is especially bad. The extent of the BUTCHERY in that area is INCREDIBLE. Kugimiya Rie was the heroine's original voice actress, and did the job fairly well. Now, the english dub got some lazy-ass lisping middle-aged woman who plays the role of Captain Obvious better than ANY other character I've come across in all my many years of service. No, I am not kidding, this character is not only shown as barely dressed and increasingly dumb the further into the game you might get, but has to paraphrase EVERYTHING happening around her, mumbling to herself in the most bored voice possible. The Captain Obvious style of main character CAN work out fairly nicely, with good scripting - you WILL NOT find it in Blades of Time. The whole basic scenario is already appearing as moronic and makes no sense. The way Ayumi addresses a talking statue promising her power is gonna make you more than just facepalm very damn hard.

You can probably live with the gameplay if you turn the voice volume AAAAAAAAAAAAALL the way down, but don't expect to get impressed by this game. There are myriads of flaws in Blades of Time, and while I grant them that they made a game better than X-Blades this time, the improvements aren't exactly significant on any level other than pure aesthetics.

I can really only recommend picking this game up at even a 75% discounted price of 10 bucks if you share the costs with 3 friends and buy it for pure comedic entertainment on a friday night, with ordering pizza and a bit of alcohol to make it less painful to endure.

Sincerely, @DarkChaplain, Trying to save your wallets.

LET'S SEE WHAT THIS GAME HAS -WEIRD FPS CAMERA -HACK AND SLASH GAME SYSTEM -SOME GIRL NAMED AYUMI WITH GUNBLADE WHO'S TOUGH AS SHIT -SPARKLY GRAPHICS

So Gajin Entertainment [LOL FOR NON-JAPANESEU ENTERTAINMENT] took FF, DMC, and Bayonetta and put it in a blender, homogenized the parts that they wanted and made a game. Tacky. Also, it'd be nice if Ayumi could just shut up for a couple of minutes her babbling about her "logistical conditions" is adsklfjadklf WOMAN GO MAKE ME A SAMMICH.

Seriously. The fighting systems for DMC and Bayonetta differ as well, as it is a Hack and slash game you get graded for your combos etc etc. For example when Ayumi appears to make some big hit/finisher she just stands there...and gets hit. Oh AND THEN THERE'S A BUTTON YOU PRESS BECAUSE THERE'S A HEALTH RESERVE SYSTEM. SPAM THAT SHIT BY ACCIDENT AND YOU'RE FUCKED.

You get nothing here, oh wait..what was that? YOU CAN LOOK FOR TREASURE? Typical. Treasure is useless. Boo....

Putting shit statistics and evidence aside. If you enjoy games that are sparkly with a plain typical storyline, and a chick with skanky clothing and tits. Not bad.
