So I go look at the ps3/vita hacking scene today, and find that the ps3 has been fully hacked. Meaning that no matter what Sony does (Firmware updates) and such, there will always be a CFW (Custom Firmware) for the new Firmware updates.

This is the beginning of a very long and heavily scheduled future of the PS3 hacking scene. The release of the LV0 key means that any system update released by Sony going forward can be decrypted fully with no effort. Sony has no cards in this game. As of today LV0 is now decrypted for ever until the end of time. There is alot of reverse engineering to get the decrypted loaders from it since Sony had changed a lot of security algorithms to protect these loaders inside LV0 however, rest assure every PS3 developer is hot on the news of everything going on.

So yeah, looks like Sony will have to push out a ps4 sometime soon, or just give up.

By having the ps3 fully hacked you can:

    • Play backed up games/ anything released for the ps3 from the ps3 harddrive
    • Play/run homebrew (i.e Emulators, tools, games)
    • Install Custom Firmware

    Yep.

even tho this pushes idea of a sooner ps4 so the hacks wont work & thus not bothering sony ._. doesnt this mean less money for our beloved playstation company?; also making microsoft/xbox more popular.

Hardly. I plan on buying a second playstation to dick around with without fear of having my PSN account banned. I'll still buy all of my games, but will have more flexibility with my system. Full-disc backups, ability to play games with emulators, and the ability to use features that were removed; this is what the hack is really about.

ok then, 2nd. due to my lack of research skills ._. how the heck does one get a hold of this program and "hack" our playstations (for the better)

Well, it only took six years...

But at least now I have a retirement plan for my PS3. Also, that new PS3 redesign looks nice too since I move around a lot. I might as well convert ol' bulky to a power machine.
