Not really sure if the megaupload shutdown was a coincidence or if it was deliberate since its so close to the time of the anti-SOPA blackout.

Please share your views and opinions.

It was shut down under something totally different but... it does give you an idea of what the internet will be like with SOPA and PIP in place.

I think supporters of the act should be spammed with copywrited content to show them how difficult it would be to regulate the internet like some Police State

okay so apparently anonymous has taken down the department of justice site in retaliation of megaupload being shutdown???????????????

idk if it's true but apparently they've admitted to it on their twitter and the department of justice website is definitely down

Anonymous might have taken it down for another reason, Maybe to protest SOPA? In that case, I support them doing that. More power to these 'nerds'. (God dammit America. Nerds? Really?)

I wouldn't support anything Anonymous does these days anymore. They're not the Justice League they claim to be, but rather another cancer that simply developed differently.

They're shutting down all these sites supporting SOPA. I see nothing but hilarity from this.

Viacom is next, which is good. Viacom is run by douchebags anyway.

@DarkChaplain "They" have done some good stuff too. "They" are a consept, not a group so per se "they" cannot be good nor bad.

If I shot the president in the name of Anonymous, would the "group" be to blame?

@Noodle You know what? You're right! In fact, isn't Colorless a concept too? Well, we used to have some sort of concept... Something about raindrops...

I can understand why it was shutdown. However, there should have at least been a notice that it would be taken down within the next few days. Taking a site with so many files, and then just killing the whole history of the site is just wrong in my opinion. and now we have to deal with the collateral damage.

@eterno your brinigng u a good point, the anonymous beeing extremely similar to the dollars, with the difference that the dollars have a clear leader they all listen to. that would probably help

Unlike you(or me), Anonymous do what they can. And unless you're reading the news on DoJ-s homepage every morning with a cup of coffee, I fail to see how any of this hurts you.

Anyway, they are putting their asses on the line to tell the governments what they think of their ideas and whether they glorify themselves or not, for that, they will always be cool to me.

And that page should be considered a valid source of info because it's obviously not biased, and the link provided as a source is perfectly working.

The existence of the page itself disproves what is written there; trashing a single blog page shouldn't be too much of a hurdle for Anonymous.

    Also, swat? Meanwhile in America:
