    "Weird flex, but okay..."

Briefly emerging in 2017, but making a striking comeback as of September 2018, "weird flex but okay" has made its way onto reddit, twitter, and tumblr to respond to otherwise "odd or unimpressive" bragging done by other individuals. Canned responses are often the quickest go-to for fake internet points, doubly so when they get across a very specific thought that many of us can share.

For the uninitiated, "flexing" is when someone brags about having or doing something that others cannot, originating from muscular people literally flexing while less muscular people could not do so as adequately.

There is also the lesser variation "Odd Flex But Ok" which emerged during the original usage in 2017. As of now it is still a lesser-used variation.

  • The Meme Economy and Meme News
"Honey its Meta, dont open the door. I'll get the shotgun."

Jokes aside, memes are a powerful thing. They have marketability online, they steer public conversation and humor. Dogecoin is a legitimate cryptocurrency you can actually buy into for god's sake...

    What's the thread for?

Firstly, no, this is not a thread to shitpost in. The normal Meme Thread is where those kinds of posts go. This thread is for posting memes as they become popular so we can see trends posted in real time, as well as making fun of them as if they are "on the rise" or have "undiscovered potential" in the same vein as the subreddit /r/MemeEconomy does by pretending they're stocks.

You can also talk about actual memetics if you want I guess... They weren't always just pictures of cats and captions on the internet.

The economy of memes is constantly in flux. People like and repost memes everyday, each day they become more popular and more used, until they become "dead" or "stale" our goal is to find the memes when they're still in their prime. When there are still internet laughs to be had.

  • In What Are You Thinking Right Now

The unpopular opinions thread was destroyed so:

Elon Musk is a rude person who slanders people on twitter. His companies are just as terrible to their employees as any other big company is, and he's an asshole who doesn't deserve respect.

@Sage_Phantomhive Although it might be awkward, sex therapy is a real thing. That and making sure both of you open up about what you want/dont want in the bedroom. So many people get hung up on not wanting to give criticism, and not thinking they can take criticism from their SO.

Also yeah, click on the date/time tag of a post to subpost underneath it like we've been doing. It just makes things flow easier.

  • In Tell me about your dating life

Sexual incompatibility is a seriously valid issue. Some people suck at it, some people want it more or less than you, and sometimes you aren't compatible with someone else. I got out of my last relationship because I didn't fit with how they were at all. Being single is miles better than living in a constantly unfulfilling slog.

  • In Tell me about your dating life

Disappointment mostly. People seem to be too immature or don't know what they want. Also communication. Just nut the fuck up and say how you feel to people.
