This thread is here to just put all the problems on the table. This shit-throwing contest across numerous threads have really taken a toll on morale in this community. I'm just a simple bystander and like most don't understand why I'm seeing problems which should've been handled in private being broadcasted across the public boards.
So why make this thread on the public boards idiot?
Simple, because most know what is going on now more than ever. So instead of people picking up the cause on a totally unrelated thread and bringing that thread into the pit of even greater mediocrity, put it in one simple spot so it can be contained and responded to appropriately.
RULES
- Properly address your own problems. If you can't make a valid point, honestly who the hell would care. Come with your best and be conscious that your post will represent your views.
NO:
This site is shitty, fuck tha modz, lol this is stupid.
or
I never did like their face. :P
- Read and comprehend before posting a reply to someone else. Understand their problem, then reply as you see fit (in a well thought out manner that is).
You can be as spiteful, mean, hurtful etc, but your words have to be able to be understood. Conflicts hidden behind curses or lame name-calling hinders progress in actually resolving the issue or at the very least finding middle-ground.
I will personally flag unconstructive, outright bashing, and just plain useless posts.
I don't have much hope for this thread honestly, but hopefully it can actually help to resolve some issues.
-
@--Jack-- Then what was the point in making the thread if you bitch out on page one? You had something you wanted to talk about right? So, get yourself together and post whatever point you're trying to make.

So while I'm not excited about Dragon's Dogma's DLC Dark Arisen not being able to be bought separately from the entire standalone title and my disgust of Capcom for being their usual selves.
My excitement for Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is high nonetheless. With it comes an area filled with literally everything I've ever wanted to kill. Besides that a Hard mode has been added (which its lack of one previously is the reason why I sold it). It's looking good and I'm hyped to return and massacre that drake in north Gransys.

@Xyopq I've got a character in Malboro, but haven't had time to really do anything besides log on and chat with a few friends lately.
Same here with the PS3 version, my laptop can run it fine, but it crashes too much when I actually want to play. So I'm just waiting it out until the beta drops on PS3, which I can see happening around May or June.
@DarkChaplain this is extremely late I know, but you're completely wrong on one thing.
The Alpha is pretty much representative of how its gonna be already, the only stuff that's gonna change a bit at this point would be some numbers.
I'm positive the Alpha is barely scratching the surface on what FFXIV is bringing to the table. It's barebones plain and simple. There's content and features not yet available that can really make a difference in the overall experience. So saying Alpha is what its going to end up as is laughable.
The thing is, the combat system is "right-click and wait for attacks, throw in some ability here and there"
Truth, but what other formula will fit. It's simple and accessible. Also if it's properly established it can prove to be a dynamic formula as well if you can account in chaining motions between basic attacks and abilities between party members.
This shows it appropriately. Simple motions with a dynamic element in them (note dynamic =/= complex in this sense but it shows)the questing is the same old junk
Can't argue here, but that can be said for 90% of MMOs on the market.
the customization choices are barely existent
Again can't argue, because this was the same thought I had initially. Still I can see that changing once the game releases and all options become readily available (Character Creation/Equipment wise).
and the overall performance of the game is appalling. 20fps on auto-detected settings is laughable for an MMO.
Truth.
It is pure WoW with a shinier interface and different aesthetical choices. There was literally nothing that you couldn't get in free to play WoW-style MMOs as well.
I agree, but also strongly say, Nuh-ughhh, in opposition. Its the Final Fantasy Fans MMO, so it does have one thing others don't have and that is "a long nostalgic history". Its strong and has a lot of pull in this game I mean...
MAGITECK ARMOR. FINAL FANTASY VI CERTIFIED! You have gotta love it.
OH YEA ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION...(I'm really yelling at you guys.)
Since phase 4 of the beta is open and anyone who is thinking of playing this game should try to start then (if they aren't trying it out in earlier phases) we should definitely all get together and play. Some talk about a CL guild happened on earlier pages, so this might be a good chance to start thinking about it.
NotesNo payments are necessary (for the individual thinking they have to pay for the game to get into the beta... someones thinking that I know it).
Should drop around mid/late summer, so if you aren't doing much drop in and come play.
Available for PS3/PC (don't know if cross-platform play is enabled for phase 4, but i'm pretty sure it should be). If it is though, we can get more people on board.
SO...
Consider it. -
I love this idea and it actually reminded me to finish editing a few of my threads as well...
-
Looking forward to it.
Assassin+Pirate="How could they possibly fail?"

Megalomania. That pretty hot. Narcissism is as well.

@DarkChaplain I'm actually a bit worried myself at this point. The game looks solid, but even I can see it's starting to struggle to find it's own identity. It's Alpha though, so most of it is barebones. The beta's starting soon so I'm hoping they'll really expand upon the mechanics. They are bringing a good number of promised features to the beta as well, so that's something to look forward too as well.
BETA TESTING BEGINNING!
- All info Available. Here.
For the, Beta, I'm actually focused on Phase 4, even though I most likely will be participating in the earlier phases as well. Phase 4 is what decides this games fate. Most of the features will be implemented and PS3 testers will really begin to see the product. The only thing I'm concerned about is will Cross Platform Play be implemented during the beta. I can see stress-testing and assume it might be, but it's still too vague for a definite yes. It'll be nice to have this option and see how that work out for it.
