As interesting as the thought of a cold metal heart would be, inserter by someone who played too much surgeon simulator, I think you would find this to be a more likely reaction to sudden fear of heart attacks. Not a flawless solution, but neither is the cancer operation discussed in this thread.

Personally, my opinion is that She did what was right for her. She judged if she needed to take the risk, and what she would lose in case she got cancer, and what she would lose from getting the operation. I honestly believe she didn't give her drooling fanboys a second thought when she did this, and neither should she. Besides, we most likely won't see the difference in the end anyway. HOWEVER, it might not be the right decision for just about anybody, so I am not all that happy about the whole awareness thing.

As for the ongoing discussion about 87% being high or not... It is true that since there really is no context connected with the percentage, it seems a bit of a useless number. Is it 87% of getting it every day? Every week? Ever month? Every year? At all? Is it compared to a normal person? Still, the problem is, in some of these cases, it is still considered high. And the argument: "It's spanning here entire life, so the chance isn't high" is wrong. Because the problem is, as soon as you have it, you are too late to do anything about it. Have fun poisoning yourself and hope for the best, or just die in agonizing pain... Obviously the notion of avoiding that is quite good if you don't feel any NEED of the risky gene.

And just to make it clear, here is an over the top example to get my point across. 100 women in a big room with a doctor. The Doctor tells them that 87 of the present women will at some point in their life get this specific cancer with a 100% certainty. They are all offered a preventive operation for free. They all already have kids and a family, don't plan on having more, and their partners are cool with them getting the operation. I highly doubt in this case, that 13 (or for that matter more) of the women there will decide "Pff, it's not gonna be me who gets it". If they all no longer need the course of the problem, they would obviously remove it.

Yes, mods haven't all been doing their jobs properly in every respect, but as I stated in a previous post, insulting them for it is not the way of making it better... Even less so when your own arguments lack so hard too. You are really doing exactly the same they are, except they are the ones with power (they are mods duh), so you blame all the fault on them. It is also a fact, had you not done that, the bully thread had not stayed unlocked that long. That doesn't mean it was okay it stayed unlocked that long, but that's not the point of my reply. My reply is to try and show you, that you are at fault too, so stop pretending you're not please.

Mods, and admin; Please do your jobs. If you see mods not doing their job then tell them to quit, simple as that. I'm getting sick and tired seeing this happening. You're turning people off from this site right away. What's funny is that a certain mod always whined about the forums not being active. Gee if you see it lately you really wonder why?

Actually, all the "new members first threads" that I've had the "pleasure" of reading before getting locked, has mostly been treated somewhat kindly with links to how to make proper threads. The problem lies in the majority of these people either not caring to actually make any sort of quality in threads OR they just continue to make shitty threads, full of spelling mistakes, that almost hurt your eyes to read, disregarding the HELP given. This is why THIS THREAD HERE has so many: EMEGAHD someone read the FAQ posts... because people don't care, and just want to spam...

I was in the original CL too. The "fun" was as follows: Oldfags insulting and bullying newfags and also almost every thread topic being derailed. So much fun yes.

On a final note: while this thread might actually seem like some sort of "teach a lesson" thread... it happened because of whining about mods because of conflicting oppinions. Maybe if people stopped complaining, this thread could be treated properly?

TL;DR Please stop whining, Authority figures are always hated, justified, or none justified (Like, blaming Gargron for everything)

1st place Because the art is epic, and I feel it leaves a good impression.

2nd place I feel this gives a more sci-fi look to things, and kinda gives the idea of an actually person working behind the scenes of the site, which is amazing, also the screenshots in the picture.

3rd place The only difficult one for me to pick. At first I wanted to give it to Reki, but after looking at the original intention of the whole contest, I felt Low's picture is the better one, as it is more badass, and manry.
